Affordable Elegance
Entering into Clara’s is going into elegant dining
at affordable prices. The atmosphere is subdued with its
black décor, highlighted with small lights interspersed
in the decorative plants. The ambiance is enhanced with
soft background music. The parameter of the main dining
room has several booths for private, intimate dining. They
also offer a quiet lounge.
The food is Italian or American style with an Italian orientation.
Their lunch menu has a variety of offerings with a good
representation for each type. Clara’s doesn’t
just present dining fare, but fare with a flare. Their lunch
Entrées which range from $6.95 to $12.95 comprises
of: Melanzana Eggplant ala Parmigiana, Chicken Paillard
with Lemon Basil, Sautéed Breast of Chicken with
Madeira Cream, Filet of Sole Amandine, Baked Atlantic Salmon
with Champagne and Caper Sauce and New York Steak with Merlot
Butter. The dishes are colorful and presented well, with
the unique sauces being flavorful.
In addition to the lunch entrees, they also provide sandwiches.
Their sandwiches cost from $5.50 to $6.95, and are general
American favorites: Turkey, Roast Beef, Corned Beef, BLT,
Turkey Club, Beef Dip and Vegetarian. Their Pastas are as
good as you would expect, costing between $6.95 and $8.95.
This offering includes Angel Hair with Tomato-Basil, Linguini
and smoked Salmon, Chicken and Spinach Ravioli, Spicy Southwest
Pasta with Shrimp or Chicken, and Wild Mushroom Ravioli
with Mushroom Cream Sauce. They also have a few lunch salads
ranging in price from $3.50 to $8.95.
Clara’s dinner menu is equally as good with a variety
of meat, seafood, and pasta entrees. You can start off with
any of their appetizers, ranging in price from $6.00 to
$7.95, featuring Calamari, Sautéed Mushroom dishes,
Escargots, Shrimp Cocktail and Steamed Mussels. The Entrees
has a good selection of meat dishes, which include either
Soup du Jour or a Mixed Green Salad. These include: Cannelloni,
Sautéed Chicken, Roasted Chicken Breast with Bersini,
Roast Duck with Orange and Grand Marnier Sauce, Veal Picata
with Lemon Butter and Capers, Veal Marsala with Wild Mushrooms,
Petit Filet, New York Steak with Merlot Butter and Roast
Rack of Lamb with Rosemary and Peppercorn Sauce. These Entrees
are supplemented with their Seafood offerings, priced from
$13.95 to $14.95: Grilled Salmon with Citrus Vinaigrette,
Fresh Filet of Sole with Lemon Butter and Caper sauce, Baked
Atlantic Salmon with Champagne and Caper Sauce, and Scallops
sautéed in garlic with Herbed white wine. Clara’s
pasta’s offerings, ranging in price from $8.95 to
$12.95, include: Angel Hair Pasta with Tomato-Basil, Chicken
and Spinach Ravioli, Angel Hair Pasta with Shrimp and Scallops
in a spicy Tomato broth, and Spicy Southwest Pasta with
Shrimp and Chicken.
Whether it’s after lunch or dinner, let’s not
forget dessert. Their desserts range in price from $4.00
to $5.50. Clara’s dessert specialty is the Raspberries
Grand Mariner, which is served over French Vanilla ice cream
with chocolate shavings and whipped cream. Also a favorite
is their Pear ala Vino, which is a fresh pear poached in
Port Wine and served over Clara’s home made Hazelnut
ice cream.
Along with Clara’s menu variety and dining atmosphere,
they offer a wine list that will have something to please
everyone. They also offer a large, out of the way, dining
area for larger parties. Their lounge is quiet and cozy.
However, most important is its elegant dining at affordable
prices.
