Ain’t a Pizza Chain
When
first walking into The Gourmet Pizza Shoppe (formerly
Popa Rosa’s Gourmet Pizza), I noticed this isn’t
your national brand pizza chain. This restaurant has
a unique, one-of-a- kind setting where the entire
family can enjoy a super variety of pizzas. They are
friendly, personable and care about customer service.
Bill Craw, the owner and manager, is very attentive
in meeting your pizza expectations. (This is the same
Bill Craw that was owner and manager when the restaurant
was called Popa Rosa’s Gourmet Pizza.)
The
menu takes a while for the first timer to assimilate
– there are 90 different pizzas to choose from.
(And if that isn’t enough, they have the "Build
Your Own Pizzas" for the really adventuresome
who couldn’t find an existing combination). They
have combinations I have never dreamed of, "Mississippi
Steam Boat", "Granny’s House",
and "Frankenstein", – there is something
for everyone. The pizza topics, which there are dozens
of individual combinations, are: Garden Fresh Vegetarian
Pizzas, Around the World Pizzas, Grand Italian Pizzas,
Zesty Mexican and Southwestern Pizzas, Classic American
Pizzas and, of course, Dessert Pizzas. Their pizzas
varies in sizes and prices from for the 4 slice Personal
at $4.75 to the 16 inch, 12 slice pizza, for $15.99.
While
they don’t have delivery, you can take home their
"Bake @ Home" pizzas that are available
in the 10", 14" and 16" sizes. Some
of these pizzas can be frozen for future dining. What
a great way to have your favorite pizza made to order
to enjoy at your leisure in your own home. But Pizzas
aren’t the only Italian food served at Popa Rosa’s
Gourmet Pizzas. They also serve traditional Italian
dishes: homemade Lasagna, Raviolis, Spaghetti, Calzones
and sandwiches.
